Shyam Rangeela recently launched a video mimicking Prime Minister Narendra Modi while mocking the hike in petrol price. He shot the video at Surendra Agarwal’s petrol pump.
On February 16, Shyam Rangeela had shared a video from the Sriganganagar petrol bunk about rising fuel prices. The video soon got viral and gathered over a million views on YouTube. The video collected over 42,000 likes on Twitter. Surendra Agarwal, the petrol bunk’s owner, complained to the Sadar police station.
The company directed Mr. Agarwal to file a complaint against him else Agarwal has to face some consequences like barring the regular supply of diesel and petrol of the pump.
WHAT DID RANGEELA SAY IN THE VIDEO?
Rangeela shot a video mocking the skyrocketing fuel prices. He mimicked Prime Minister Modi throughout the whole video. In the video, he mentioned that no other government in the past could get petrol its actual value.
“My Indian friends from Sriganganagar in Rajasthan are very proud after the hike in petrol price. No other government has given petrol its real value but we gave petrol its due right”, quoted Rangeela in the video.
He further added that not only Sriganganagar but the entire country will get the opportunity to be proud of getting the real value, I assure you. Buying petrol for ₹100 is, in turn, benefiting our country. According to opposition the rise in petrol prices will create a problem. He said that nation always comes first than anyone (log rahe na rahe, mai rahun na rahun, magar ye desh rehna chahiye).
SURENDRA AGARWAL’S COMMENT
Agarwal said to the media that Shyam Rangeela projected himself as a journalist and took permission to take a photograph near the pump. On February 17, later in the evening, few people came on the bike. The employees stationed at the petrol pump couldn’t figure out that a video was being shot. Many people gathered in one place and it went unnoticed by them.
Surendra Agarwal apologized to the company in this regard and both the employees on the pump have been sent on leave.
SHYAM RANGEELA’S RESPONSE TOWARDS THE COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST HIM
Soon after getting a response on this video, he said that he never intended to hurt anyone’s feelings. He has apologized to people affected by the video. He mentioned that the motive behind the video was solely to raise the concern over the rising petrol price. He clarified about the video that was made about the rising petrol prices in the state to attract the attention of the government towards the problem faced by the common people and provide some relief. He said that it is beyond his understanding that why the company is insisting on an official action and has warned to stop the fuel supply to the station.
The price of petrol has been constantly rising in the country. It has created tension among the working class. The sole aim of the video was to direct the attention of the government towards the issue.
