With an estimated total net worth of $8 trillion, there were 2,095 billionaires on Earth. Out of which, the top 10 richest people in the world account for $1,128.50 billion. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, here is the updated list of the top 10 wealthiest people of the world in 2020.

  1. JEFF BEZOS- the latest November 2020 SEC filing updated that Bezos owns about 11 percent share of the world’s largest online retailer before transferring a 4 percent stake to his wife after the divorce. Amazon is one of the four companies whose net worth has crossed $1 trillion. The remaining three companies are Microsoft, Apple, and Google.
  2. ELON MUSK- the founder of Tesla Elon Musk has surpassed Bill Gates to become the world’s second-richest person. His net worth soared to $167 billion. Musk’s ranking improved from 35th to 2nd in just 10 months. His ranking has been enhanced largely by Tesla whose market value crossed $500 billion.
  3. BILL GATES- his total net value is $131 billion. This is the second time that Gate has slipped from the top 2 ranks and has occupied 3rd position. Before Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates held the top spot for years.
  4. BERNARD ARNAULT- the pandemic didn’t prove to be fruitful for French luxury tycoon Bernard Arnault. He holds the fourth rank with a net worth of $110 billion. In recent months demand for some luxury goods has seen a rebound. The wealth accumulated from his business empire includes more than 70 brands like Sephora and Louis Vuitton.
  5. MARK ZUCKERBERG- co-founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire on Bloomberg Billionaires list. He holds the fifth position with a net worth of $105 billion. Earlier, Jeff Bezos was the only centibillionaire whose net worth exceeds $100 billion. But now there are Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Bernard Arnault included in the list.
  6. WARREN BUFFET- Warren Buffet is the only person included in the top 10 billionaires list whose wealth decreased rapidly during the year. He is the chairman of Berkshire Hathway. His total net worth is $85.2 billion. Due to the pandemic, the company had to sell its entire stake in four major US airlines.
  7. LARRY PAGE- google co-founder Larry Page secured 7th position in Bloomberg Billionaires index. His total net worth of $81.4 billion. He is co-founder of alphabet which is the holding company for Google. It is the world’s largest search-engine operator. He is now the board member and controlling stakeholder of Alphabet.
  8. LARRY ELLISON- Larry Ellison is the eighth richest man in the world. He is the chairman and co-founder of software giant oracle. His net total worth is $79.7 billion. He also has a stake in Tesla. He owns the Indian Wells tennis event and real estate adding to it Hawaii’s Lanai island.
  9. STEVE BALLMER- he is the ninth richest man and is the former CEO of Microsoft. His total wealth amounts to $79.1 billion. Ballmer was first hired as an employee at Microsoft and then he became the company’s president in 1998 and replaced Gates in 2000. He is also the owner of the Los Angeles basketball team.
  10. SERGEY BRIN- Brin is the tenth wealthiest man on the list. He is co-founder of Alphabet. His net worth is $78.8 billion. Brin stepped down from the position of president but continues to be the board member and controller stakeholder.
